The Beat Legends are a brilliant, live tribute band, recreating the early sounds of 60s Merseybeat.

Yanni  (guitar/vocals) is both proud and passionate about The Merseybeat sound. He was born in Liverpool in 1950 and he first played at the Cavern Club in 1964 with his band The Seftons. They went on to be very successful and recorded many singles. And were very proud to be top of the bill when the Cavern re-opened in 1967. In 1997, a commemorative wall of fame was unveiled opposite The Cavern and The Seftons have their own brick in the wall alongside the names of all the bands that performed at the club. The Beat legends have loved being invited and playing at the Mathew street festival for the last 7yrs. In 1972, Yanni found further success when he wrote and sang the theme tune to the long running TV show Candid Camera. Yanni has a wealth of experience spanning more than 40 years and contributes a genuine, reminiscent quality to the sound of The Beat legends.

Allen: (bass/vocals) has enjoyed playing guitar at venues in the UK and abroad, supporting The Wurzels  The Searchers The fortunes to name a few. He especially enjoyed performing at Butlin’s Festivals of the 60s, and loves working the cruise ships. Allen began playing guitar when he was eleven years old, reaching an accomplished level of ability, evident when he made the seamless switch from rhythm to bass guitar when he joined the band. He says not many bass players like the Hofner bass but he would’nt want to play anything else. Allen has an impressive, creative talent and uses this to reproduce the authentic 60s sound for the band.

Dave: (Drums)Dave started playing drums at 15 going to the same tutor as Mick Avery of the Kinks, In the 60s he formed a band called the Zodiacs playing venues all over the country even performing on the Hit TV show Ready Steady Go,they supported bands including Cliff Bennet and the Rebel Rousers, in 1967 the band split one member going to australia one to canada Dave stayed home and was approached by Ray Dorset who was forming Mungo Jerry but dave had taken another job, however was pig sick when they had there big hit “ In the summertime” but Dave say’s as the say “Thats Life” He is now propper chuffed to be back playing in The Beat legends.

Graham: Guitar and vocals, Well it would be easier to say Graham has been there done that and got the T-shirt, which is pretty true. Graham started gigging in 1970 when he was just 16, in 1979 he moved to Preston and formed the band Cavern with Gary Gibson, they even had a minor hit with “No reason to cry” in the mid eighties Graham became a Mindbender working with Wayne Fontana where he stayed till 1987 when Eric Haydock was putting a band together to re create the hits of the Hollies his high harmonies were ideal. This carried on till 2004 when a new 60s group formed to celebrate 40yrs of 60s music. The line up was Mick Avery (Kinks) Chip Hawks (Tremelos) Eric Haydock (The Hollies) Telecaster Ted Tomlin (Love Affair) and of course Graham. So as you can see Graham will bring a wealth of experience and Knowledge and says he is looking forward to playing the 60s stuff as it should be done.

The  Beat Legends have enjoyed being invited to perform at International Beatle Week for the last 7 years. Each band member contributes many years of experience and professionalism and the band continues to impress and is always in demand.
